The very purpose of wearing the belt is to confine the costume to its position and when it comes to fashion, it should go with the attire. Belts are chosen to match the colour and design of the clothing. When the pattern of dress changes according to the occasion, the belt also will have to be changed.
There are two components for the belt; the strap and the buckle. Usually the strap is made out of leather. But there are other versions also like fabric, vinyl, Rexene and other derivatives of polymers. When it comes to luxury product, costly animal and reptile skins like alligator skin, kangaroo hide, brown snake skin, crocodile skin and black snake skin are used. Fine leather belts always dominate the market, with increasing demands in the fashion world. Even though expensive, leather belts will last long if it is maintained properly.
Many types of buckles are marketed with a diverse array of designs to suit the individual taste. Plastic and wood are very often used instead of metal. A particular type of belt is worn with a matching buckle.
